Which Bike is right for me?

Which Bike is right for me? We get this question a lot and we can break this down into 3 primary categories -

      1.  Inexperienced or Experienced Rider
      2.  Size of rider
      3.  Primary use

Below is an outline of what we see through years of selling these directly to the public at events and understanding what customers are looking for. One thing we do want to point out here is all of the current TT series bikes, are built off the same platform and the primary reason is portability. We make these so they can be taken with you easily and that cannot be said for some competitor models. Even with the small size of our TT series bikes we do have a longer seat, better footrest placement and higher handlebars allowing riders up to about 6’3” to get around on these bikes! Ergonomics baby!

Inexperienced Younger Riders: TT250 and TT350R

For the first question it comes down to the riders ability and experience in the use of a two wheeled vehicle. All of our TT series electric mini bikes come with a Hi/Low speed option to allow a person of limited experience to familiarize themselves with the operation of a twist throttle and a hand brake. It takes a certain level of maturity to ability to operated the bikes and if these are being used by a younger rider you have to take the time to work with them slowly, observing and being patient with safety in mind as they explore the new found fun of operating a powered vehicle. Do not assume their enthusiasm is a sign of mastering riding. Test them and verify their skills slowly. We do offer training wheels for riders who are still unsure about their balance but in our experience, one or two days of working with an inexperienced rider who can plant their feet on the ground while sitting on the bike will produce a rider who can balance by themselves in short order. These bikes are lightweight, do not produce heat, have a low center of gravity and allow new riders to focus on balancing and in our experience it is easier to teach balance on a Burromax TT than it is to learn how to ride a bicycle. Think of it like a balance bike, their feet are out helping balance as the learn and pretty soon they are riding with their feet on the pegs. The cool thing about our bikes are they will keep riding them long after they’ve outgrown a balance bike! We have the best starter bikes in the market!

TT250 — Best for younger riders up to 150lbs

With primary riding being done on hard packed surfaces. If the riders are under 75lbs this bike will go about anywhere in any terrain. The bike is tested at 12 miles range on flat ground at wide open throttle with a 100lb rider. If your 200lbs we want you only on flat pavement. This bike is our budget model and if you are unsure if the rider is going to be enthused about riding, this is the place to start them out. The TT250 works well and as long as the kids aren’t too heavy, they will get enough ride time. These bikes require a 6-8 hr recharge so often it works out that when the bike is done, so are the parents. Again, great starter bike and upgradeable!

TT350R — Best bikes for the family

This bike also has a slow speed switch and can provide the correct power level for inexperienced riders but it also has enough power to move 250lb adults around a campground. This bike will travel about 14 miles on flat ground at wide open throttle. Heavier riders and hills or soft terrain will kill the battery quicker as will riding style. This bike is made for kids, campers, racers and people wanting a very cool piece for mobility in a small package that takes up very little room. The functional lighting (very bright headlight!) and accessories make this bike very universal in application and the real advantage here is the quick charging and longer lasting power source. This bike also stores very well without worry of having the battery go bad in prolonged times of storage. The battery is the real upgrade here and it makes a huge difference in ride time and performance over the TT250. If it fits your budget—this is the better bike in the good, better, best model.

Experienced Older Riders: TT750R and TT1600R

TT750R — If you like going fast!

This model was built for adults up to 250lbs who are very experienced, wanting to have the baddest little electric mini bike out there. This bike has a ton of instant power and should be approached with caution on the first ride or you will end up on your butt. It does have the same Hi/Low switch but in this case the Low setting still makes the bike outperform the TT350 on its Hi setting! This bike will go the same distance with a 200lb rider as a TT350R, about 14 miles on flat ground at wide open throttle but gets there much quicker. Heavier riders and hills will kill the battery quicker as will riding style. The instant torque of this bike is addicting but it cannot be ridden with constant throttle whacking as it will overheat the system. You shouldn’t ride it like you stole it as they say, ride it like you own it and you will enjoy it immensely. This bike is for people wanting performance!. With all that performance caution needs to be taken and we cannot stress enough the need to keep only experienced riders on this model.

TT1600R — Our Newest bike, not just faster but bigger too!

This model was built for adults up to 350lbs who are very experienced, wanting to have the baddest little electric mini bike out there. THis bike has a range of over 30 miles, with a top speed to match at 32 MPH. The bike has a bigger fame then the other TT model bikes allowing for a higher seat for a better ride for the Adults.

Conclusion

I have a new rider. What bike do you recommend?

If you are working with a new rider and are testing the waters and willing to maintain the battery when in storage go with the TT250. It is upgradeable later and you can extend the useful life of the product by upgrading the battery at a later date. This is the price point model as well and if the budget it playing into the decision, this is the model. If you have the money to buy the TT350R do so even with a new rider. Both models can use our Training Wheel sets but MUST BE USED ONLY ON THE SLOW SPEED SETTING!

I have experienced riders and looking for something all the kids can enjoy. What model should I get?

If the people on the bikes have experience it comes down size of rider, primary use and in many cases financial ability of the purchaser. The TT350 and TT750 are recommended due to the Lithium Battery and ability to move heavier riders around. We find a large number of people who like the safety the lighting provides when the bikes are used as mobility at events, parks and camping and the quick charge time cannot be understated as one of the most important features. We keep our charger in our accessory saddle bags and every 110 outlet becomes a potential charging station—its nice to have that option on the bike. The battery life, ability to store for longer periods, fast charging and lighting features make the TT350R the best choice for most who want mobility and ability to customize for purpose. The TT350R is a one size fits all great choice as it does have enough power to be enjoyed by the entire family at most outings, its very smooth, has some very functional accessories.
